Phoenix Charter Academy Lawrence will participate in an Integrated Monitoring Review conducted by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (Department) Office of Public School Monitoring (PSM) during the week of June 8, 2026. An important component of the review is to interview staff members who function in various roles.
An Integrated Monitoring Review is conducted every three years for each school district and charter school to examine and evaluate the implementation of federal and state laws and regulatory requirements in special education and civil rights. Additionally, in keeping with the Department’s Education Vision to foster exceptional learning opportunities and to strive to ensure an equitable, inclusive, and accessible education for all, the Department uses the Integrated Monitoring Review to monitor compliance and support districts and charter schools in improving student outcomes.
Phoenix Charter Academy Lawrence will undergo a Group A monitoring review that focuses on special education student identification and special education eligibility timelines; Individualized Education Program (IEP) development; programming and support services; procedural requirements for suspensions; and equal opportunity.
Within approximately 60 business days after the onsite visit, the review chairperson will provide Phoenix Charter Academy Lawrence with a report detailing areas in which the school meets or exceeds regulatory requirements and areas in which it requires assistance to correct or improve practices. The public will be able to access the report at http://www.doe.mass.edu/psm/tfm/reports/
