Director's Corner

We've had a great start to our second year. Highlights include:

  • Growing the school from 75 to 125 students.
  • 100% passing on the English MCAS
  • 75% passing on the Math MCAS.


A few fun facts about our Phoenix students:

  • Our students were born in the US (MA, NY, MO, Puerto Rico), El Salvador, Guatemala, Cape Verde, Honduras, Ghana, Liberia, Bosnia, Mexico, Eritrea and Somalia. 
  • They speak English, Spanish, French, Cape Verdean, Haitian Creole, Khmer, Kunama and Somali.
  • At least 17 are mothers and at least 1 is a father.
  • 63% Hispanic, 20% White, 16% African-American,1% Asian.

Welcome   Getting Involved
Phoenix Charter Academy is a tuition-free public charter high school dedicated to rigorous academics and individualized support of students, ages 14-21, in Chelsea, Lynn and Revere.

  As a second year charter high school, we are very grateful for financial support and operational efforts.
School Design   Curriculum
PCA is designed to support all students with a later start in the morning, an extended day (9 AM – 5 PM), academic block scheduling and on-site child care.

  PCA has a rigorous curriculum grounded in the Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks and expects all of its students to gain academic mastery in core skills so that they can succeed in college and beyond.
