PCA's curriculum was created in alignment with the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework and includes academic as well as non-academic standards that every student must meet:
Most students at the PCA will need to raise their literacy and mathematics skills considerably in order to meet both the PCA and MA state exit requirements within 3 – 5 years. We have constructed a competency-based curriculum, to include content and skills students will need to know in order to compete for college admission and perform well in college or in the professional world. For a student to pass a class, they must earn a 70 or better.
Students will be graded using a variety of internally developed assessments including quizzes, tests, written work, projects, portfolios and oral presentations.
