Phoenix Charter Academy was created by a group of local teachers, business people and community residents that care about the education options for youth and young adults in our city.  Partnering rigorous academic work with programmatic support for 14-21 year-old students, the Phoenix Charter Academy provides students with the tools necessary to achieve high school graduation and college success.  The Academy opened in September of 2006 with 75 students.  It grew to 125 students for the 2007-08 school year and plans to grow to 150 students by the 2008-09 school year. Some of the specific services we offer to our students include:

• Small size and many individual relationships with caring supportive teachers and staff
• Later start to accommodate the needs of student parents and students who work at nightA block schedule with double amounts of reading, writing and mathematics instructionAn extended day which includes community advisory support, a childcare program for teen parents and a Wednesday half day schedule to accommodate the outside-of-school needs of our students. 
• An opportunity to graduate with a Massachusetts high school diploma and the skills necessary to enter college and succeed at college-level work.

Phoenix Charter Academy is open to ALL students.  We are especially interested in students who seek a high school diploma with college preparation and have not succeeded in other high school environments. 

How to Apply

To apply for enrollment, prospective students need to be high school age by September of 2008 and can come from anywhere in Massachusetts.  Our target areas are Lynn, Revere or Chelsea, MA.
